We raised Meeka from when she was an 8-week-old kitten, along with her sister Goldie, whom we collected from Basingstoke. The two were twins—Goldie was outgoing and adventurous, while Meeka was more reserved and preferred staying close to home, rarely leaving the garden. Sadly, Goldie passed away in a car accident last September; a kind person took her to a vet, allowing us to give her a proper farewell in the garden. As my husband and I buried Goldie, Meeka watched over us. Meeka has had two healthy litters: six kittens born on 8 April 2024, and seven more on 16 August 2024 (we had tried to have her spayed but learned she was already pregnant). She has since been spayed and cannot have more kittens. However, some tissue remains, so she still comes into heat about once a month. We kept two male kittens from her second litter for our children, but this has caused issues, as the boys are interested in her during her cycles, which is worrying. Meeka is protective of her sons, which is touching, but she generally prefers her own space. She has a gentle, sweet temperament and is excellent with children. True to her name, she is calm and enjoys sitting on laps once she feels comfortable. Meeka eats both dry and wet food, and drinks tap or bottled water. She is an independent cat who deserves a loving environment where she can feel safe and relaxed. Although it is difficult to let her go, it is the right decision. She will only go to a caring home, which is reflected in her price.
