Description

Bear is a 4-year-old purebred Chow Chow, originally from Romania and brought to the UK at 6 months old. After his previous owner fell ill, my family took him in. He has regular vet checks, documented in his Vaccination Certificate, and has always been healthy. Bear is affectionate and enjoys cuddling, playing with toys, going for walks, and staying close to people. He is an excellent guard dog, tends to be vocal with unfamiliar people, and takes time to trust, but is extremely loyal once he does. He enjoys occasional kennel visits and is KC registered. Bear needs a new home due to difficulties adapting to recent changes in our household routine. He is sensitive to change and will test boundaries to express his discomfort, similar to a young child. With ongoing changes, he’s struggling to adjust and requires more attention than we can currently provide, which has been hard for both him and us. We hope to find Bear a loving home, ideally with older children, as he is an Alpha Dog and may try to dominate younger kids. He did learn not to do this with my youngest, but his behavior with other young children is uncertain. Bear does not get along with cats and prefers the company of large dogs or being the only pet.
