I have made the hard decision to find a new home for my sweet black Toy Poodle boy. He is a true toy poodle, standing under 10 inches tall. I originally brought him in as a companion for my older Chihuahua after his longtime friend passed away, but unfortunately, my older dog hasn’t accepted him and often acts aggressively toward him. Despite trying for months to help them get along, they need to be kept apart and walked separately. I had hoped this would be a positive change for both, but it hasn’t worked out. I care a lot for both dogs, but since my Chihuahua has been with me for his entire life, I feel it’s best to rehome the poodle. He is a loving, friendly dog with a wonderful temperament. He loves to play, go for walks, is toilet trained, uses a dog flap, and gets along well with children. He’s done well at local shows and has a shiny black coat. He does have one undescended testicle; my vet suggested waiting up to 12 months, but at 14 months, this hasn’t changed. This is not why I’m rehoming him—I never planned to breed and only enjoyed showing him. He is affectionate, forms strong bonds with people, and loves being close to you. He enjoys grooming, baths, and is easy to clip, according to our groomer. As he is still young, I believe he’ll quickly bond with a new family, just as he did with us.
